Itinerary #1: Nile River Cruise & Cultural Tour 

See Egypt from an unforgettable perspective as you cruise down the Nile River, stopping at Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings, and Edfu Temple on this two-week journey around the country's cultural highlights.

Begin in Cairo and kick off the trip with a visit to the Great Pyramids Of Giza. Then you'll board a boat to cruise along the Nile River to Luxor Temple, then onward to the Valley of the Kings. Tour the famous temples at Edfu and Kom Ombo, then continue along the river to Aswan, where you'll see the Aswan High Dam and visit Philae Temple. Learn all about Egypt's captivating history on this culturally oriented two-week tour that takes you to pyramids, temples, mausoleums, and museums in Cairo, Aswan, and Luxor; you'll retreat to the beaches of Sharm El Sheikh to relax for the last few days of the trip.

This adventure begins in Cairo. You'll spend the first few days around the capital city, learning about Cairo's Islamic history and day-tripping to see the Pyramids of Giza and the Roman ruins of the ancient city of Alexandria. Then fly to Aswan and continue to the iconic Abu Simbel Temples: these gargantuan rock-cut temples are one of Egypt's most popular tourist attractions. Drive to Luxor, where you'll spend the next few days touring the temples Kom Ombo and Edfu, visiting the famed Valley of the Kings, and seeing Hatshepsut Temple, the memorial of Queen Hatshepsut.

Check out Carter House, where the English archeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter lived during his search for Tutankhamun's tomb before walking around the Tombs of the Nobles. On this dynamic 14-day itinerary, you'll see the best of Egypt and Jordan, starting with a river cruise down the Nile, then crossing the border to Amman, a jumping-off point for exploring the ancient city of Petra and camping in Wadi Rum.

You'll follow a similar plan as many other Egypt itineraries for the first part of this trip.
