Quality Hotel Bordeaux Centre
Travelers who want to be close to the action without a high price tag can stay in a pedestrian area just five minutes from the city center at Quality Hotel Bordeaux Centre. Attractions including the Grand Theatre de Bordeaux, Great Bell Bordeaux, and Romanesque Bordeaux Cathedral are all just steps away.
You can choose to start your day with a buffet breakfast. After exploring the city, take a seat in the shared lounge or at the Le Jéroboam cocktail bar, or get in a workout at the fitness center. Friendly staff are on hand to help with any requests.
L'Hôtel Particulier
Luxury guest house L'Hôtel Particulier sits in the center of Bordeaux, offering large, stylish rooms ideal for couples. There are both guest rooms and hotel apartments depending on how much space you choose.
Homemade breakfast is served in the dining room. The concierge staff can provide access to excursions in and outside of the city, or even as close as an in-room massage. And of course, no trip to Bordeaux is complete without wine, which the hotel provides on site at their wine bar and lobby shop.
La Maison Bord'eaux
Petite La Maison Bord'eaux sits across from the ruins of Palais Gallien, just a few minutes from the main attractions but far enough out that you feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The building is a former coach inn, and has been welcoming travelers and couriers to its now-converted stables and courtyard since the 18th century. A 2020 renovation added a new modern building to the property.
Each of the 21 rooms has its own unique design. Breakfast is served between an expansive glass roof and original parquet floors. Later in the day, afternoon tea is available with a selection of teas and pastries from local pastry chefs, or ease into happy hour at the wine bar, which has a cozy interior and outdoor courtyard seating along with tablets that provide information about each wine on offer.
Hôtel De Sèze
Experience an example of classic Bordeaux architecture at Hôtel De Sèze, where large buildings in Houseman style overlook the city scenery through large windows. The 55 rooms, situated between La Place des Quinconces and the Allées de Tourny, are decorated in a style that will bring you back to Bordeaux in the 18th century (plus modern conveniences, of course).
Enjoy the market prix fixe menu at Comptoir de Sèze, or simply have a seat at the bar to sample original cocktails and an extensive wine and spirits list. Le Salon des Illustres lounge offers a cozy library complete with fireplace and curios, or settle in for a smoke in the English-inspired cigar room. If you prefer a different kind of haze, head to the steam baths, sauna, and other offerings of the spa.
Les Sources De Caudalie
Roughly a 20-minute drive from the center of Bordeaux, five-star Les Sources De Caudalie is a luxurious spa retreat within the Grand Cru vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The buildings were constructed using recycled local materials and blend into the vines and neighboring forests, including the Vinothérapie Spa, which combines natural hot spring water with benefits from grape and vine.
Take a dip no matter the weather with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a hot tub drawn from the hot spring. Get physical on a one-hour bicycle loop that passes by the extensive outdoor contemporary art collection and wine facilities or with personal training, tennis, or yoga sessions. Then refuel in style at two-Michelin-star La Grand’Vigne restaurant or the country inn-style restaurant La Table du Lavoir, both of which use products from the onsite gardens. Sample the products of the vineyard (and others) at the Rouge wine bar and grocery and Le French Paradox wine bar, or book a personal tasting class or session to get the expert input.
