Ilio Maris
The Ilio Maris sits in the center of Mykonos town, steps away from the famous windmills. It was one of the first hotels built on the island in 1985, and a 2010 renovation combines comfort and minimalism in its design.
The hotel appeals to families with rooms that sleep up to four guests, as well as travelers who prefer an experience more focused on the town and culture than time on the beach. Unlike many other hotels in town, the Ilio Maris also offers a pool with views of the Aegean Sea, surrounded by local Mediterranean flora. Start with a coffee or enjoy a sunset cocktail from the pool bar, and let the helpful concierge staff schedule your ideal stay.
Adonis Hotel
Families who want to be within walking distance of town at a slightly lower price point should head to the Adonis Hotel, which focuses on creating a homey feel within easy proximity of both town amenities and the beach at Megali Ammos. Its smooth white exterior and blue balconies fit perfectly into the Cycladic streets.
The rooms, decorated with floral patterns and wood furniture, include private balconies and airy interiors. Start your day off with a buffet breakfast. If you need a break to focus on your fitness, the recently added gym includes a sauna as well, or spend some time in the bright common spaces and shared patio.
Kouros Hotel & Suites
The Kouros Hotel & Suites was built in 1994 and renovated with the help of French designer Fabienne Spahn in 2018 to create this exclusive, elegant atmosphere. Its cliffside location provides impressive views of both the sea and Mykonos town while keeping guests within walking distance of the restaurants, shops, and nightlife. Its 39 rooms are designed with natural influences, luxury amenities, and private balconies or terraces, and the hotel focuses on delivering a VIP level of service to every guest.
In addition to the expansive breakfast options, you can enjoy Greek cuisine with a modern twist in the Narcissus restaurant or complement a day of lounging by the outdoor pool with cocktails and bites from the pool restaurant and bar. Reserve a spot on the exclusive Champagne Deck to enjoy a glass of bubbly with cigars and hookah. If your preferences lean more in the wellness direction, try out a "Marine Waves" or "Grand Oriental" spa treatment with touches like pebble massage and exfoliating olive oil soap.
Elia Mykonos Resort
If your family is more of the seafaring sort, try the Elia Mykonos Resort. Located on Elia Beach, the 34 rooms and suites and overall hotel all reflect minimalist Cycladic style, with sleek lines and smooth surfaces, and some are able to sleep up to five people.
The hotel structure is organized around an artful outdoor pool. At the edge of ocean, meanwhile, you'll find the Elia restaurant, which serves fresh Greek cuisine alongside an inventive wine list. Soothe your senses in the spa, home to a Soul Sauna and Steam Bath, as well as Starpool sensory showers, salt room, and facial and body treatments. Feel like it's your wardrobe that needs a beachy refresh? Stop in the boutique to see wares from Greek and international designers.
Grace Mykonos
Over on sandy Agios Stefanos, both families and couples can enjoy the atmosphere of Grace Mykonos. Agios Stefanos is considered one of the most "local" beaches of Mykonos, a spirit that echoes in the friendly hospitality of the hotel staff and the 32 blue and white rooms, all with private verandas and sunbeds.
Fall asleep in comfort with your selection off the pillow menu, then wake up to breakfast served either by the pool or in your room if a late night leaves you not feeling up to the sun. Rejuvenate with treatments such as an olive oil massage or "Queen Bee" facial at the spa. Once you're ready to emerge, poolside Grace restaurant serves Mediterranean fusion cuisine into the late afternoon and drinks through the evening if you can't peel yourself away from your king-size sunbed.
Rocabella Mykonos
The name Rocabella Mykonos means "beautiful rock," and you'll see why once you reach its elevated location. Take in the stunning views of the sea from up on the eponymous rock at this bohemian retreat on the beach at Agios Stefanos, about a five-minute drive from the main town (also easily reachable by hotel shuttle).
Rooms are decorated with natural materials and include balconies or verandas, complementing the hotel's focus on sustainable practices. Enjoy creative Greek cuisine at the Reeza restaurant while taking in views over town and the neighboring island of Delos or pay a visit to the spa and its extensive menu of facial treatments and massages. Sample island specialties at a wine tasting or cooking class, or set off into the island with a carefully curated picnic.
Kensho Psarou
If you want to live that top-shelf, star-studded Mykonos lifestyle, Kensho Psarou is your spot. There are four Kensho properties on the island, but this high-design spot on Psarou Beach has one of the best locations right on the sand. The decor blends aged wood with local stone and Aegean architecture for maximum aesthetics inside the 31 rooms and a four-room villa, all of which come with either an outdoor hot tub or private plunge pool.
The equally luxurious restaurant serves up modern Mediterranean cuisine with global influences, or visit the beach bar for live music, sunbeds, and fancy snacks. The beachside spa offers an extensive list of high-end services from a sand table massage to spa water pod, and there's even a boutique to pick up the perfect dinner outfit or signature scent from the Kensho line.
Mykonos Blu
Also on the sizzling sands of Psarou beach, you'll find Mykonos Blu. The hotel's amphitheatric structure means that you'll get a great view — and the hotel's personalized service — no matter where you're standing. The island villas and private bungalows are designed in the Cubist Cycladic style, with airy textile hangings and some featuring private pools.
Breakfast arrives on the poolside terrace of the Aegean Poets restaurant, or go for fresh seafood dining through the afternoon at L’ Archipel bistro. Then feel like you're floating above the sea in the hotel's outdoor infinity pool. If you'd rather savor every second of your time on the sand, service can come directly to your beach chair for cocktails and light bites. As the sun goes down, head to the rooftop Delos lounges for island-inspired drinks. If nothing quite suits, you can also schedule a personalized dinner in your villa or on the beach.
