Meghan Doiron
I create tailor-made travel experiences throughout Brazil. I am originally from Canada but have been living in Brazil for the better part of 10 years after having fallen in love with this country, its people, its culture and its unique beauty while initially doing an internship. What I most enjoy about traveling is its ability to completely open our minds to the new and change our perspective of the world.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Adventure Travel in Brazil. We specialize in creating unique travel experiences that enable visitors to get in touch with the true essence of the country. These activities include trekking, multisport, culture and community, gastronomic experiences, beach and romance, city and architecture, Nature and Wildlife, Photography, and River Cruising. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"When I was 13, I flew for the first time, on my own, across my native Canada to visit my uncle. From that moment I was hooked on traveling. I didn't know what I wanted to do in life, but I knew it would involve travel. I loved the freedom and the excitement of exploring the unknown.
Shortly after that trip, I spent a year in the French part of Belgium as an exchange student, then backpacked around Australia, participated in study abroad programs in Cuba and Mexico during my undergraduate degree, spent some time studying and living with riverine communities in the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazons during my Master’s degree, and travelled to other countries in Europe and South America.
I began my career in the travel industry working for an airline, first as a flight attendant and then for the company's tour operator. After having fallen in love with and having lived in Brazil for the better part of 10 years, I am able to combine my passions for sustainable development and travel to create tailor-made responsible tourism experiences for other travelers to fall in love with Brazil. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"For New Year's eve 2008-2009, a group of friends and I visited Alter do Chão, also known as the 'Carribean of the Amazon', in the state of Pará. This beach only exists certain months of the year when the river levels are low. The town and beach are surrounded by Amazon Forest. We trekked through the forest past gigantic 'samaumeira' trees to crystal clear water pools called 'igarapés'. We took a boat ride through the black water river and swam in the flooded forest. We camped out in hammocks (with LOTS of bug spray). We visited a native community and fished for piranhas. And finally, the highlight for me was trekking to the top of a big hill to get a panoramic bird's eye view of the Amazon's beauty and watch the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. The colors of red, orange and purple reflecting off the deep green of the forest cover is something truly spectacular only found in the Amazon. "

All of the transfers and accommodations were fine but we were disappointed in the level of English spoken by the owner/staff at the Tariri Lodge. There weren’t many guests but the majority of the other guests were Portuguese speakers. The guides didn’t always translate everything into English and we frequently had to rely on one of the other guests to translate for us.
Hi Paul,
Thank you for your valuable feedback. Your comments regarding Tariri Lodge are well noted and we will speak with them and evaluate how and whether this service can be improved.
Happy New Year 2023 to you and your family!

Dec 20 - Dec 26, 2022
We just completed our 8-day trip, covering Rio, Iguazu from Brazil and Argentina sides, and a day in Paraguay. It was a memorable experience. We had been planning this trip for about two months, and Meghan helped fine-tune our itinerary multiple times. Meghan and the Kimkim team were very flexible in accommodating our custom requests. On the day we were supposed to go to Christ the Redeemer in Rio, the weather turned out rainy with poor visibility, so we had to cancel. Meghan worked with the... read more

Overall I had a very good trip. The communication between Meghan and me before the trip is essential and was always good.
The full day for the hiking trip was very good. I think Meghan was successful in selecting the hike that fulfilled my requests (duration, elevation change, length, waterfall).
Augusto is a good guy who is personable and friendly. He answered all of my questions whether it was about details for the trip or about the hike itself including flora and fauna. He was very... read more

The title says it all. We were looking for a panorama of Brazil and boy did we get it. We saw Rio de Janeiro, Iguazu Falls, Manaus and the Amazon, and Salvador, each destination better than the last. All our guides were professional and made our experience better with their behavior. They were easy to talk to and offered insight on the life of the Brazilians in each city we visited. Especially in Rio we were guided by the greatest guy, Felipe, who went above and beyond to make us feel safe... read more

Thank you! It was an amazing trip.
All the flights worked out. Very smooth.
Lucas in Rio was awesome. And the tours were great. The bike tour was dangerous to be on busy city streets. Along the beach was fine. But my 12 year old got bumped by a truck on the busy streets with no bike lane. Got a bruise. Luckily it wasn’t worse. Carlos was great on the Corcovado tour. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate. Lots of rain and clouds. But we had a memorable time.
Orico was great at... read more
Dear Scott and Family,
We are so glad to hear that you had a great trip! Thank you very much for your valuable comments. Regarding your comments on the bikes tours, we have already taken measures to improve the safety of these tours. Generally in Rio de Janeiro the bike tour is confined to the bike path, along the orla the lagoon. This incident ocurred near the bike shop when you were returning the bikes. Moving forward, we will ensure that bikes are dropped off at a designated point along... read more
