Miha organized a fantastic trip for my wife and my honeymoon in Slovenia. He was super flexible in accommodating our interests of outdoors activities (hiking, biking, rafting) with high quality dining options and boutique hotels, allowing us to pack a ton into our 10-day trip without feeling overwhelmed nor rushed. We also felt like we were able to get a good sense of the different regional characteristics of each place we visited due to the way Miha put our trip together.

Miha quickly responded to our requests/questions and crafted a trip that let us have flexibility on the day, without having to worry about any of the small stuff (car rentals, hotel reservations, even where to park).

We could give a full list of our highlights but that would be too long; however, we must give a high recommendation to Soča Splash rafting in Bovec, Winestronaut wine tours in the Vipava Valley, and Majerija for dinner.

Our accommodations were so well located and their suggestions enhanced our trip.

This was altogether an amazing trip. All hotel accommodations were excellent and well-situated for our needs and stays were well-allocated. This was altogether an amazing trip. All hotel accommodations were excellent and well-situated for our needs and stays were well-allocated. Katja met us in Ljublijana and made sure we understood the tip itinerary and provided us with maps, catamaran tickets, etc. Sedja was an excellent guide for Zagreb, providing us with thorough details of the city to fully enjoy all the city had to offer. After picking up our car, we drove to Ljubljana where we met Katja. We had chosen to do the food tour with Tjasa who provided us with a range of restaurants to truly appreciate the cuisine of Slovenia. We would have liked more time in the city, a real highlight of our trip, and probably should have arranged for a city tour to fully appreciate all that the city had to offer. (Next time!!).

Our next stop, Lake Bled, was memorable for the hike to Vintgar Gorge. Also enjoyed an excellent dinner at Penzion Berc. After an exciting drive over the Vrsic Pass, we stopped to hike although that was a challenge given the tremendous crowds on a beautiful autumn weekend. We were unable to park at switchback "24", but found nice hiking at "22".

On to Kobarid where we had an absolutely amazing dinner with paired wines at Hiso Franco. Truly a great experience and not nearly as expensive as such a fine dinner would cost in the States or in Europe for that matter.

Then on to Rovinj, stopping at the incredible Skocjan Caves, an awesome experience. The hotel Monte Mjulini was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we had rainy weather, but with good rain gear, we enjoyed the town. (The dinner at this hotel was disappointing but the champagne breakfast made up for that experience.) Would love to return to this hotel in the future.

Our next stop was the hilltowns but we could only stop at Groznan as the weather really caved before getting to Motovan. In torrential rains, we drove to Plitvice Lakes National Park but were blessed with very good weather the next day for our walks in the park. We started out very early and had the park almost to ourselves the first two hours. What a gorgeous park this is, another highlight!! After 5 hours of hiking, we set out for Split, Loved our hotel in the middle of the town!! Although crowded during the day, we got up early to take our snapshots of this most interesting town with quite some history!! We perhaps should have taken a guide, but here and there, we listened to other presentations for a few minutes, enabling us to view interesting places.

After giving up our car, we took the catamaran to Hvar, also a lovely town. As we had ample time, we took the bus to Stari Grad in addition to our most enjoyable 11/12 mile hike (and swims!!) on the coast to Milna (as suggested). We also visited the Huljic Winery where we had an excellent dinner but were somewhat disappointed in not seeing the winery itself. We did, however, understand that we were there at harvest time with little time for tourists. By the way, each and every wine in both Slovenia and Croatia were absolutely incredible!! As was the food!!

After our catamaran trip to Dubrovnik, we were introduced to the city by Ivo, our guide, who gave us a thorough orientation to the city including its history. Excellent guide!!

So sadly our trip came to an end. Each day was highly varied and exciting. Miha did an excellent job of outlining our trips. His communication with us was excellent in planning the details of the trip. Couldn't have wished for more. The itinerary gave us lots of choices!!

The only disappointing experience of the trip was with the SIXT rental company. We had to insist that the agent in Zagreb show us exactly where our car was (would not have found it without her!!). The agent in Split was very rude when we had difficulty locating the parking lot which was not at the same place as the office. It would be helpful in the future if we had the address of the parking lot rather than the office in Split.

Thanks, again, for such a wonderful trip. I have recommended Kimkim to many other travelers.

Just wished our initial briefing contained more information on the android phone operation and bike cover use with android. Miha was very responsive and really facilitated my recovery of my Fed Ex package!

Accommodations, hiking and biking suggestions, food at restaurants and huts -- all were excellent. We especially enjoyed our stay at Kekec Homestead in Trenta. And the private cave tour at Skocjan was perfect.

Miha planned us a great trip. The only reason I didn't give him 5 stars was that he forgot to let us know more about the phone & it was frustrating for the first bit. However, the rest of his service was definitely 5 stars.

The trip was a great variety - w/hiking, biking choices as well as the visit to the beekeeper - which was fascinating & the caves. I am so glad we had the private tour of the caves.

Miha put together the exact trip that was asked of him. It was a 2-week adventure that showed off the beauty of Slovenia. The hiking was outstanding and right for this group. The cellphone-guided, hut to hut part was well organized. The huts were each a different experience and fun. The guided part of our trip, with Aljaz, was also much fun. Aljaz was bright, flexible, fun to be with, and led us on yet more adventures.

Miha, Aljaz, and Kimkim are all worthy of high praise and a very strong recommendation.

Miha had arranged the days so I could take some simple hikes on my own during those days - plus there was a spa! All in all, the itinerary from Miha took us to some incredibly beautiful places. We had no idea so much beauty, and such varied beauty, could be located in such a small country!
All the accommodations were good. Two stand out. First, Vila Park at Lake Bohinj. The proprietor talks to all her guests and finds out what they want to do. She was especially helpful to us as she knew exactly how long each hike would take (we were a little slower than the 'average' time). Most importantly, she made the very welcome suggestion that we take the bus to Lake Bled instead of driving. The bus stop was right next to her B&B, and we had a relaxed and enjoyable day without the hassle of traffic. The second place I want to mention was one of the highlights of my life of traveling -- Hotel Dobra Villa in Bovec. The place was lovely, the grounds were lovely, but the personal expertise and talents of the staff were just amazing. The person in charge made everything look beautiful. Not only did he run the B&B flawlessly, but he was the person who designed the gardens. The chef was amazing! Two of the best meals of our lives were there. I am so grateful to Miha for sending us there.
I also took advantage of the suggestions Miha made for activities. Two that stand out are the Flower Power Walk at Bovec and the stupendously exciting and beautiful rafting adventure with SocaSplash. There were so many rafting companies in Bovec and I would never have been able to figure out which one fit our desires without Miha's advice.
Driving the car was not a problem, but it did take us quite a bit longer than the estimated time. Sometimes roads were closed; sometimes we just missed turns. Our GPS card did not work as it was supposed to, but in talking to Miha we are the only people who have ever experienced difficulties. I think that the problems were caused by our phone which evidently didn't sync quite correctly.
We found driving in Piran to be very stressful. Miha had thought we could park for an hour or so in front of the hotel - which turned out not to be the case. The hotel wanted us to move immediately as they said the police absolutely loved giving parking tickets to tourists. We would recommend driving to the public parking garage and parking the car, then having the hotel shuttle come and pick you up. Piran itself was lovely! I had asked Miha to give us guidance for another hiking trip for our last day, which he did. However, it turned out his original plan was best -- we just sat under an umbrella and watched the people play in the ocean while eating ice cream. It was great.

Couldn't ask for some one more prompt in his response like Miha, the travel specialist. Kudos to Primoz, my guide, for his patience with a level-zero noob like me from the city. Loads of gratitude to my warm hearted travel companions from Spain.
Slovenia is an amazing travel destination with so much to offer - spectacular natural beauty, hospitable locals, delightful experiences and awesome food. I will remember this vacation for a long time.

What an amazing trip! A beautiful country with friendly interesting people and the perfect itinerary. It’s hard to express how impressed I was at every step of the way with the planning and organization that Miha, his team at Slotrips, and our guide, Aljaž, delivered. Bravo guys!!!
From the outset, the organization of the itinerary, with the explanations, and various options presented on the Kim Kim App let me know that I was in for a exciting experience. The group communication, coordination, and sorting out of various people’s issues worked beautifully and was very reassuring. We knew we were in good hands.
The personal itinerary that each person could save as an app on their smartphone and share with friends and family was such a great touch. We always had access to it and could easily use it to discuss what was coming next, what we wanted to do, and when and where we needed to be. Everyone was able to be on the same page at the same time. The restaurant recommendations were also wonderful.
The coup de grace was the personal smartphone with the trip information, GPS directions for the hikes and bike rides, emergency contacts, and local data plan. We never felt lost. Well okay... a few times ;-) where the trail was covered by snow or overgrown. But we were quickly and easily able to find our way and get back on track by following the blue line. What a way to leverage new technologies and set a new standard for adventure travel!!! Again, I was super impressed.
After the first few days of self-guided success, we wondered why we even needed a guide for the second half. Yet Aljaž brought us a whole new level of understanding and appreciation. He brought us to a few more out of the way places that would have been harder to reach on our own. He was very attentive and accommodating to the desires of the group. We learned a lot from him about Slovenia, it’s history, and culture. I found his excitement and love for his country infectious and he really became part to the group. We were sorry to see him go at the end.
You guys really hit a home run in my book. (and that’s coming from a very seasoned traveler). Thank you for a wonderful and very memorable experience! I will recommend you highly to anyone looking for a similar trip!

Checking the weather for road closures, making sure we had alternatives for rainy days, answering our calls on public holidays. While we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of taking an independent trip, we were always supported, felt safe and never felt alone. Miha really knows Slovenia and takes the time to get to know his guests so that he puts together a great itinerary. His recommendations were wonderful from the daily adventures (which included some frequently visited tourist spots but also many off the beat more quiet but super spectacular spots) to restaurants and accommodations.

Really great trip to Slovenia and hiking with my local guide Boštjan. The trip was easy to book and Boštjan really planned some terrific hikes that were both picturesque and perfect for the level of difficulty I was hoping for. I would book again in a heartbeat. Debela peč was my favorite!

Miha did also supply maps and detailed itineraries, which worked out well. The included Iphone with maps was so-so...difficult to read in sunlight, impossible to use as a map while biking. But still able to be used to call him for any issues.

Our guide, Bostjan, was incredibly nice, interesting and helpful. It was so nice not to have to worry about driving places and how to get there. I loved seeing Piran but would have liked more time there and more information about the town and its history. I also loved the winery he took us to, which was a great experience and very different. The region was particularly beautiful. In general, again, I would have liked more information on our surroundings.
It may have been due to the fact that we didn't plan our trip too far in advance so I'm not necessarily faulting Miha, but I didn't know the details of what we were going to be doing on the two days with the guide and would have liked an opportunity to decide after a more in depth conversation about the alternatives. I had to call the guide a day before we were leaving for Prague to ask about it and discuss some possibilities since I hadn't heard from anyone.
I also really loved our hiking experience with Bostjan. He did a great job of figuring out what would be both interesting, scenic and manageable for me with some knee problems and not being as adept a hiker as my husband. He was an expert driver on the windy mountain roads and planned a really wonderful hike.
Things I didn't find so interesting: walk through a bird sanctuary, since it wasn't particularly culturally interesting and birds had already flown south, and spending time in Lake Bled. Again, I'm not necessarily faulting the tour company for spending time in Bled since I had heard a great deal about it and it is a pretty famous site. It certainly was pretty and we had some great meals in local restaurants, and also went to the nearby gorge. However, it's very crowded and touristy and I think I would have preferred knowing a bit more about that aspect of it through talking with the tour company, and maybe spending time in a home stay overnight in the countryside instead or something like that. My favorite part of visiting Lake Bled was actually taking a different route back from the gorge and walking through the forest and two local villages back to Lake Bled. We were not able to rent bicycles there because the only places that were open didn't have any small enough for me, but it turned out to be fine to walk.

The best recommendation would be using the service again and we will certainly be doing that. We like to be independent travellers but had found ourselves getting exhausted by planning and researching what to do tomorrow on our adventures. Now we have the solution. Let someone else who knows your chosen holiday location intimately do that for you. The best recommendation would be using the service again and we will certainly be doing that. We like to be independent travellers but had found ourselves getting exhausted by planning and researching what to do tomorrow on our adventures. Now we have the solution. Let someone else who knows your chosen holiday location intimately do that for you. We gave Miha, the local man, our interests and guidelines and he planned the best experience I've ever had on holidays. Slovenia can take some credit too. Such variety all close to each other.

However, we were given a 54 page booklet of our trip, complete with suggested activities, websites, maps, phone numbers, opening times and tips that made our days travel so easy and accessible. Then, on meeting with Miha in Ljubljana, he handed over a phone, ours for the length of the trip, with all those things loaded and one tap and up came the route on google maps or the phone number to the local special restaurant that only the locals would know. It’s hard to say what was our favourite place in Slovenia. Miha chose totally different but equally enchanting destinations and accommodations from mountain farmhouse in the Julian Alps to Boutique hotel in Ljubljana to luxury resorts in Rovinj. A smorgasbord of interesting places to stay in a country that offers a smorgasboard of sites and experiences. So, I’d certainly recommend Kimkim and Miha in particular.

I used Miha to organise our bike tour to Slovenia. the tour was tailored to meet our specific requirements and didn't disappoint. Eveything on the tour was to expectation from accomodation, to transfers rigth through to the detailed routes for the tours. I would highlty recommend Miha to anyone who wants to organise a trip to Slovenia.

All the hotels were wonderful, but there were some that really stood out; Pension Berc,(one of the best restaurants we have been to) and loved the free use of their
E bikes, the manager of the hotel 44, in Dubrovnik Damir was also outstanding. He gave us a lot of tips as to where to go and what to do and carried our suitcase up the flight of stairs. We loved that Miha gave us a lot of flexibility in the planning and our trip was a perfect balance of activities and relaxation time. There were so many favorite spots that we wouldn't have the time to list them all. However I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend Miha for your Slovenia and Croatia trip. All the guides spoke great English and were very friendly, and very knowledgeable. Kim Kim and their travel planners are the perfect way to go if you don't like to be in big groups and want to have the freedom and flexibility and most of all independence from a strict schedule.

The week with slotrips was fabulous.
The tour was extremely well planned. It had everything . Fantastic hikes in the mountains. The via ferrata was great fun. The lakes were beautiful . The final dinner was sooo good .
The wine tasting was special. The lady from the vineyard gave great explanations and the food was delicious at her place . The visit to the caves was very interesting.
We had two guides for the trip : Anya and Domer. They were both terrific. Very knowledgeable , patient and fun.

Hiking through the mountains to different places (only having to take daypacks) was great. Domen may have slightly overestimated our fitness abilities, but we felt awfully pleased with ourselves after! He was very quick to respond to any questions and we felt safe and secure the entire time. The only thing that didn’t work for us was trying to use the phone gps he had given us, but we had detailed directions and maps. It was most likely a user error!😀. Our trip ranged from Bled, through the Julian Alps to Bovec, rafting down the Soca river, then to wine country and ended with the caves on our way to Rovinj. I will definitely come back to Slovenia, it’s a jewel!

Living in Silicon Valley and working in tech, my desire was to reconnect with nature and pursue a solo-hike through the Alps. I had envisioned doing this in Austria just based on its familiarity with my past travels.

As Miha and I exchanged messages, Miha who converted my desires into a well defined route to combine seeing many regions in Slovenia, which would allow me to decompress from the fast pace life in California and prepare for my solo hike through the Julia Alps, down into the Soča River Valley, through the Karst region onto Prian. He ensure everything I asked for was awaiting my arrival!

Once Miha and I talked live we settled on the plan and waited for weeks to pass and my flight to Slovenia, for an amazing 10 day trip.

I can summarize my trip by saying a Slovene saying; Sekira mi je padla v med!

Meeting Domen on my arrival, we had a great conversation reviewing maps and the route over beers and burgers and then I was cut loose to explore Ljubljana, where you can still feel the presence of past dragons and the vibe of a modern but well preserved historic city. From the street musicians to the open cafe's and restaurants to eating carniolian sausage at a very small sausage shack (Go there to find it, you will know when you see it along the way to the Castle over the three bridges).

Then onto Lake Bled, 6 kilometers around the lake, meeting Bobbi the artist who paints with watercolors, to experiencing the fairytale setting of the surrounding area. You do not pass up wood-fired traditional meals or the amazing cream cake you can learn about. My stay in Bled was a stepping off point to finalizing my gear and pack, since the next day was on to where my hike would start, on a ridge on the border between Austria and Slovenia.

Getting dropped off in the woods with a short hike up to the border ridge, onto Vosca Peak to start my path through the Julians, to visit Tonka prior to getting to Vrsic pass, hiking along the Soča river, overnighting in a hay barn at a local farm and onto Bovec, then to a Winery older then the United States and Caves where the Reka flows underground, onto Prian with Aljaž to hike sea cliffs and swim in the Adriatic!

Every aspect of the trip exceeded my expectations, the friendly culture, amazing people I met along the way, the nature, food and local beer. I rarely noticed the weather, but thunder does make you hike faster off the peaks :). I cannot wait to return to share this trip with my wife and to introduce her to all my new friends.

My trip can be summed up in one word; Zaklad!

We were able to experience the traditional tourist sites that Slovenia is best known for (Ljubljana, Lake Bled, the Skocjan caves) and also many less traveled sites. Hiking in the Julian Alps, rafting the Soca River, the WWI bunker tour with our very own reenactor ( a retired teacher who is passionate about WWI history), and our private tour of a family owned winery, followed by a home cooked lunch were some of our highlights. A gem in the middle of nowhere with great wine, food, and scenery at the beginnings of the Soca River. a fabulous tour in every way.

When I arrived I had a nasty sinus infection, and Domen was able to arrange transport to a doctor in a nearby town so I could be seen and get antibiotics. The day I was to summit Triglav, the weather was questionable, and Miha called me while I was on the trail to check in on me and make sure my trek was safe and successful. I made requests for minor changes to my transfers, which they accommodated on the spot.

I had wonderful places to stay (clean, quiet, and safe for a solo female traveler) and got recommendations for local restaurants and wineries to visit along the way. This was my first travel experience with KimKim and the gentlemen at Slotrips. It will not be my last! Thank you again for going out of your way to give me a fantastic holiday!

I cannot say enough about Kimkim and Miha. The trip was perfectly planned, just the right amount of days and activities in one place. They made everything so easy. We were very impressed with the quality of the tour, the hotels, the farmhouses we visited, the wine tasting experiences, the local meals that we would never have found on our own, etc.... Miha before the start of the trip and our wonderful guides Domen and Anja during the trip had tremendous attention to detail, and we could feel that they were doing their utmost to make sure all our wishes were fulfilled. We could not go on some of the hikes originally planned due to too much snow and Domen suggested awesome alternatives that had beautiful vistas. We were also impressed by how well Domen and Anja worked together as a team.

Slovenia is an extremely beautiful country with a wide variety of landscapes and we loved them all - the mountains, the lakes, the valleys, the meadows, the waterfalls, the underground caves and amazing cave kayaking experience, wine country, the Adriatic coast, the super charming towns, the lovely farmhouses, ...We will be recommending Slovenia and your awesome team to all our travel crazy friends!

But a close second to these include our row boat ride to the island on Lake Bled, the castle at Lake Bled, the beauty of Lake Bohinj, the food at your recommended restaurants was superb, the caves (we saw both), the market square and view of the Adriatic at Piran, the Russian monument, and the friendliness of the people. Miha and his team were incredible and really made our trip. They had incredible ideas for activities (MTB tour of Ljubljana, SUP on Lake Bled, hiking in Triglav NP) and always executed perfectly. Our trip was 3-4x as good for thier involvement. I recommend them without hesitation.
