The Dhorpatan trek is a seriously off-the-beaten-path experience that isn’t too challenging. The Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve lies a day’s drive west of Pokhara in the shadow of Mt. Dhaulagiri. Trekking here will give you the chance to spot some rare wildlife as well as views of Nepal’s Western Himalaya that few travelers experience.
This scenic, guided trek through the Langtang Valley is within easy reach of Kathmandu and supports villagers rebuilding their lives after the 2015 earthquake. Climb through oak and rhododendron forests to high alpine meadows and Kyangjin Gompa, a Buddhist monastery.
