Owen Davies

Growing up in the West Country of England and having lived in Bristol, Liverpool, London and now on the rugged Welsh coastline in Pembrokeshire I know first-hand the diversity of life, history and landscapes we have in the British Isles. All my childhood holidays were in Britain and Northern France, some of my favourite memories from these trips are exploring the Jurassic Coast for fossils at Lyme Regis, the beaches of Devon and Cornwall, learning about Viking history in the old capital of the Danelaw at York, the mysterious standing stones of Carnac in Brittany that hint at stone age links between the European continent and our islands and eating fresh Oysters and Mussels in Northern France – something I still love to do today.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Here at Routescape we create exceptional journeys across Great Britain, Ireland and France. Every trip we make is unique to you and your interests. We deliver authentic luxury travel experiences to really connect you to the places you visit. I look forward to helping you plan your next adventure."

How did you get involved in travel?

"Having spent most of my twenties and early thirties traveling all over South East Asia and Latin America, I then put that to good use working in the travel industry helping people plan their perfect trips to exciting, off the beaten track destinations.

Traveling really does expand your horizons and it is hugely satisfying to work with people to create memories that will stay with them for a lifetime, and to be able to share the history, culture, food and landscapes that we have in our little corner of the world. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Seeing baby turtles hatching on the beach in Costa Rica was an unexpected and unforgettable sight, and a reminder of how special nature can be. "

We had a great trip to England during a very unprecedented time of the Queens passing. Owen literally took care of every detail of our trip from the time we stepped off the plane until the time we stepped back on. It was such a relief to be able to have someone handle all the details and for us to just be able to enjoy our short time there. I would recommend Owen and his team over and over and I would not hesitate to use him again when I return.

Our trip was the trip of a lifetime! After our long day of flying we were met at hotel du vin by the unbelievable staff! Ben actually parked our car in their disabled parking for us so that my mom wouldn’t have to walk back and forth from the qpark. He was an exceptional human and I hope to pass on his kindness!

Our driver guides, Stuart for Edinburgh and Ian for The Isle of Skye were nothing short of amazing! They were so kind and knowledgeable and generally good people. I highly recommend them both for anyone wishing for a guided tour of the area! Stuart took us to Blackness Castle, where part of Outlander was filmed and Ian went off of his way to take us to Skye Skyns. It was the best!
Driving through Edinburgh was a bit rough just due to the unbelievable amount of people and traffic, but eventually we got the hang of it!
Owen was wonderful during this entire process and really planned a trip tailored to us! He even had a Scottish history book sent to our hotel! It was a wonderful heartfelt surprise!
I will absolutely use Owen and KimKim for all trips we plan in the future!

The trip that Owen and his team set up was amazing. The places we stayed, the things we saw, the food we ate was all well selected and incredible. Days traveled weren’t to long and we had time to explore the sites, towns and anything we spotted along the way.
