The Zicara apartment at the end was especially perfect in timing and location - we had a comfortable cozy stay and an opportunity to decompress from a busy whirlwind 10 days.
Highlights of our trip: oyster tasting, hikes in the national parks, interesting castles, Mostar visit, Ston wine-tasting, Split harbour and Dubrovnik walls.
Bruno went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay. As a dedicated guide, he made our trip personal, informative, and varied. Bruno passed along his love for and excitement about the country of Croatia. Goran with the boat trip to the Elaphiti Islands was also perfect as a guide, historian and conversationist. Our thanks to Robbie and both of these guides who managed our Croatian itinerary and visit so enjoyably.

My husband and I chose the 17 day self guided Best of Croatia Tour, and it was a fabulous itinerary customized by Robi. We have really appreciated all of the patience that Robi has shown us throughout this process (since it initially was scheduled for Fall of 2020. Throughout the pandemic lockdown Robi and I kept in touch, and he never pressured us at all to book, but was kind and understanding of our desire to come when we felt it was the right time.
Our trip was outstanding and we felt that we really did experience "the Best of Croatia". Robi's suggestions for our itinerary were excellent. We liked starting in Zagreb, the capital, and appreciated our tour of the highlights of the capital city with Bruno, who was so passionate about his country! Part of the excitement of traveling for us is learning about the history and getting a glimpse into the culture, and Bruno did that! We were happy that Robi suggested to drive to the north of Croatia to visit the Trakoscan Castle - I loved how the furniture is still set up in their place and you can almost imagine how it was back in the 14th century! Also we were happily surprised at the beautiful highways that Croatia has, they are all so pristine and it was a pleasure to travel on them. We also appreciated the GPS that Robi made sure was in our rental.
We adored Istria and indeed it did remind us of Tuscany, so lovely. The little towns of Groznjan was super cute, as was Motovun. Porec was gorgeous and we will always remember the delicious seafood meal we had at Konoba Aba!
Plitvice was a highlight - I am so happy that Robi booked our accommodation near the park entrance the night before, as we were almost the first to enter the park, and seeing those stunning waterfalls almost by ourselves was just the best. We can understand how busy the park gets later on in the day or in the summer months, and it would have been a lesser experience, had we gone when it was crowded-it was perfect.
Each day was planned perfectly by Robi, with so much thought and consideration. He would send us pins each night for the following day, and so we were able to navigate the driving part all so well, and did not have to use data (which Robi taught us)!
There were so many highlights along the way - we loved the city of Zadar - it is full of character, and it is so beautiful, with the sea organ providing a wonderful ambience-just loved it!
Robi also placed us in accommodation right at the gates of Krka - he suggested we catch the first boat and we did-Krka is simply breathtaking!! The power of those waterfalls in incredible. We enjoyed the best Sea Bass of our lived in Skradin at Konoba Dalmatino.
We left our rental car in Split. Robi arranged for a walking tour of Split and it was a fantastic tour of the Diocletian's Palace.
Next we took the ferry to Hvar. This was our favorite island. It had a good "vibe", and we did not even party there (they call it the party island). It is just a gorgeous Medieval town, with quaint alleys full of little shops and restaurants. Robi booked "The DeVecchi Rooms" - our favorite-absolutely adorable, and again, the perfect location for walking everywhere. We took a beach day on Hvar at Ponkoji Dol Beach - you can walk from Old town-stay on the sea wall, don't follow Google maps-the walk on the sea wall is so pretty and the beach is lovely!
Then off to Korcula, another island with lots of vineyards, and a few beaches. We did a bike and wine tour here, and loved every minute of it.
Robi arranged for the driver, Goran, to pick us up in Korcula, take us on the car ferry to the Peljasic Peninsula, where we embarked on the BEST, most BREATHTAKING bike ride of our lives, along the coastline of the peninsula. Goran also took us to an amazing Vineyard where we sampled a few delicious red wines. This day was a definite highlight for us! And from there Goran drove us to Ston, where we walked the walls and had yet another seafood feast at Konoba Bakus-delicious!
Goran picked us up from Ston the next morning and onto our last stop-Dubrovinik. This walled city does not disappoint - it is jaw dropping!! We were not big fans of Split, but we LOVED Dubrovinik. The wall is incredible, and the stories from Antea, our walking guide in Dubrovnik were fascinating. Antea is a true local and she shares her very personal understanding of the history of Dubronik-one of the most interesting and cool cities you will ever see. We walked to another amazing beach, and the accommodations Robi arranged for us in Dubrovnik were perfect.
Frankly, this trip was faultless, because of Robi's attention to every detail. He is very hands on, and will communicate with you daily, in case there is anything you need. If you want to have someone plan and organize the best trip to get to know Croatia, you must book Robi-he is kind and considerate and so generous with his time - he went above and beyond and always says that his happiness comes from making his customers happy - how can you beat this? Thank you a million times Robi!

We were in No 3, I think, which was large, had comfy beds and had a washing machine, for which we were very grateful after being on a land tour for 11 days and we were then joining an island hopping cruise for a week. Our travelling companions were in the apartment next door, so they were able to use the washing facility too. It is near the Old Town of Dubrovnik, but you do have to be able to manage a lot of steps to get there and back, If you're fit, then I would definitely recommend it.

The trip and itinerary put together by Robi and Kimkim was 5 stars and one of my favorite vacations I have ever been on. First, Robi was terrific on working on what we wanted on our trip from length of trip to hotels, to sights, etc. There was a lot of back and forth and I was always presented with multiple options. We had never been to Croatia so we were open to many suggestions, and it was perfect. Second the communication was top notch, any time we were going to a new city, Robi would whatsapp all details, even down to where to turn on a street, how early to be there, restaurants, etc. At no time on the vacation did we feel stressed as he setup everything perfect. Our trip was Split-Hvar-Korcula - Dubrovnik (with side trip to Kotor). The team he worked with was 5 stars with extra shout outs to Antonio in Split and Baldo in Dubrovnik. If you are wondering about using Robi and Kimkim, I highly recommend it for a special memorable trip.

As for sites, everyone is different, but renting a boat in HVAR and going into coves and swimming was terrific and beautiful, and the same happened in Dubrovnik and Robi was the captain and it was terrific also. Dubrovnik lives up to the hype. Kotor was incredible and you should ask for Baldo as a tour guide. In Split took a trip out to the Krka waterfalls and was a great trip. The day trip to Ston on the way to Dubrovnik was a great stop, from walking the walls to the oyster trip, to the salt plant. Be upfront with Robi on what you want and him and his team will find it, so enjoy Croatia

It was a lot of fun and we did all the activities that we were interested in such as biking, walks, city tours, wine tasting, yachting on a rented catamaran with a captain, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, great recommended restaurants etc.

Everything was well planned and executed. You really appreciate the depth of his knowledge when he suggests the actual time of day to go and do certain activities and makes specific recommendations based on the time of the year and the expected crowds. We went in August and Robi had specific suggestions of places and times that would avoid the crowds and give us a unique tailored experience. His hotel recommendations were top notch and fitted within our budget too.

Robi is fun to be with and is a walking encyclopedia on Croatia and on activities. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him for your trip. You can't go wrong.

He was constantly in touch with us throughout the trip guiding us, helping us, going out of his way to help us enjoy our vacation. When I left my shoes in a Ston hotel room ( and went to Dubrovnik) he personally arranged to get those shoes delivered to me! Every step of the way Robi was there. All the local guides that Robi arranged for to give us city tours like Bruno in Zagreb, Pero in Split and Antea in Dubrovnik were fantastic too. The car that we drove was arranged by Robi to be Delivered in our hotel at Zagreb. That was very helpful! Also, at the conclusion of our road trip the car was picked up by the rental agency right in Dubrovnik without any hassle. Robi even drove the car from Ston to Dubrovnik to give us a break and helped haul the luggage through the streets of Old town to our hotel. The airport transfer was also arranged perfectly by Robi. All in all it was an extremely enjoyable vacation, made special by Robi's constant help and guidance.

Robbie's vans were always near us, looking after our security and the need to refill our bottles with fresh water. Arriving to any beach, suprise-suprise, snorkelling equipment already prepared for every kid.. During the 1 week, our overnight stays were perfectly organized in nice hotels, and our dinners were carefully selected and prepared in nice, traditional restaurants/ terraces. As for communication, besides absolutely fluent English spoken, Robbie and his team were also carefully watching the balance of "humanly close, but not invading". We will repeat for sure.

All of our transportation to and from airports/ports/hotels was seamless which can be a little be complicated and hectic during the busy summer travel season. Some of the highlights of the trip were excursions to Krka national park and a private boat tour of the Elaphiti islands off the coast of Dubrovnik. Robi also lined us up with local guides in Split, Dubrovnik and an excursion to Ston that were exceptional. By having a local, Croatian, like Robi plan and manage our trip, experience was elevated by removing much of the stress associated with travel, especially in a place we weren’t previously familiar with. Another element which deserves pointing out is that Robi was able to roll with a few last minute changes to our set schedule. If we required a little bit of a late start for a tour or wanted to move up the departure for the inter-island ferry, Robi was on top of it and made it happen. It was SO much fun and he took care of EVERY detail and all the logistics--from airport transportation, to hotels, to activities and everything in between. We swam in beautiful sea caves, toured the coast by boat, e-biked the wine country, kayaked among the oyster farms, had the most delicious grilled calamari, went to a secret beach (shhh!) and raced around on jet skis in Zuljana! I asked Robi if there were places I could go for a run in Ston (where we stayed) and he was kind enough to map out a new run for each day were there. Robi is also extremely knowledgeable about all-things-Croatia, so we learned so much about Croatian history, politics and people. Suffice it to say, there is no way I could have planned this much fun on my own. I can't imagine going back to Croatia unless Robi came with us! :)

The room was small and a lower caliber but the beds were comfortable and we loved Ston. I don't think you can get much better accommodations in a small place. The location was great.

The location was great, right by the old city and it was clean and comfortable. We had a bit of trouble figuring out the hot water. The hardest thing for us was the stairs. It was a lot of stairs for older people with bad knees and backs.
