Sarah Griffiths
With my interest in people, history, landscape and culture, working for Routescape is my dream job. It’s my opportunity to combine my experience of travelling, holidaying and studying to create tailormade holidays in memorable locations for visitors to the United Kingdom and Ireland.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialise in the UK and Ireland and especially Wales. I am naturally interested in culture and heritage, from castles to country houses to industrial heritage. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"After finishing University I travelled widely, living abroad and teaching English in places such as Greece, Japan and France. I was wowed by Asia, so different from my rural Welsh home, with the bluest seas, the most exotic temples and statues, and the tallest skyscrapers. While travelling in Australia and I was so impressed by one of the tour guides, it spurred me on to become involved in inbound tourism back home."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"My happiest childhood memories are of family holidays, sampling foods and discovering new cultures. The stuffed peppers and tomatoes in Greece, crepes in Brittany and my first proper Italian pizza. "

Riki was our guide and he was wonderful. Not only did he drive us around, he gave us insight about his country both past and present. The personal touch made the trip very special as did his patience with our flinching on the back roads where everyone drove on the “wrong “ side.
