Terry Zhang
I was lucky enough to grow up around travel, and experience some amazing places, from China to Vietnam to Thailand. Travel is my passion and I’m always dreaming of my next trip. After traveling around many different countries with Odynovo Tours and my family, once I was old enough I started to plan my own trips.
I worked in Beijing during my school holidays, where I practiced speaking English and Spanish, and proud to be a volunteer for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. I also worked in an outdoor education and adventure club in China, in a village called Yangshuo during university. After having so many incredible experiences, I am looking forward to helping other people plan their perfect trips.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"During my 3-year working experience as a local guide and a tour escort around China, I visited more than 30 cities in China, including Tibet and the Silk Road. During my 10-year work experience at Odynovo Tours, I mainly worked as a travel specialist in China and Southeast Asia and traveled to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and around China many times. And now I specialize in Private and Tailor-Made tours, History and Culture tours, Family tours, Honeymoon tours, and Adventures in these countries. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"I am very lucky, my hometown is the famous international tourist city --Guilin, a tourist destination located in the south of China and famous for its beautiful Karst landforms. It is about 3.5 hours by high-speed train from Hong Kong, and thousands of tourists from all over the world come here every year. During my internship at the university, I was honored to be an English-speaking tour guide and have the opportunity to introduce my beautiful hometown. Seeing their happy smiles is my greatest encouragement."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"After working as a tour guide in my hometown for 2 years, I joined Odynovo Tours and opened my door to the world. In my 4th year working with Odynovo, I was honored to follow an American student group to three countries in Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand. In addition to the regular tours, we also went to a local school in Cambodia to make donations, and we went to a village in Laos to do a one-week homestay and volunteered in a local hospital. This 15-day trip to Southeast Asia is an unforgettable experience for a lifetime."
