Le Phénix Hôtel
Much like its namesake, Le Phénix Hôtel has reinvented itself while remaining true to its origins. The building has been a hotel since the 16th century, combining modernity and tradition with period fireplaces and woodwork alongside Art Deco stained glass windows.
The hotel sits on the quays of the Saône River in the center of Old Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage historic site. When not out traversing the neighborhood, guests can put their feet up in a quiet lounge or patio or stop in the piano bar before retiring to their individually decorated room.

Les Grand Hotel des Terreaux
Les Grand Hotel des Terreaux is one of Lyon's oldest hotels, offering the atmosphere of a 19th-century townhouse to its guests and boutique atmosphere with chain hotel convenience. It sits on the edge of the city's historic center, close to attractions including the Lyon Opera House, Théatre des Célestins, and Musée des Beaux-Arts.
Within the hotel, take advantage of the indoor swimming pool or bicycle rental to get in your activity for the day. The rooms themselves have been decorated with light and color in mind, as well as influence from the artistic establishments in the neighborhood.

College Hotel
Also in central Old Lyon and within walking distance of the city's main attractions, the College Hotel is a four-star favorite. As the name suggests, this school-themed lodging has converted former classrooms into 40 hotel rooms. In the evening, the windows on the Art Deco facade light up as part of a dramatic light display.
Rooms are bright and well-lit, and many offer a balcony or terrace. Keeping with the school-day theme, breakfast is served in the Cantine, but you can break free from pencils and books at the outdoor La Terrasse bar or Baràgones tapas restaurant and its rooftop bar.

Fourvière Hotel
Stay atop ancient Roman amphitheaters and steps away from the Basilica at Fourvière Hotel. Housed in the former Convent of Visitation, built in 1854, the Fourvière brings history into modernity alongside convenient walking distance to major attractions. Guests are greeted by a reception desk in the convent's former chapel, then can follow a visual journey through the story of Lyon via art designed for the hotel by Franco-Argentinian artist Pablo Reinoso.
Les Telephones restaurant fills in the halls of the peristyles around the courtyard and garden with bistronomic cuisine, or follow the traboule passageway to Lyonnaise cuisine at Bouchon. If you'd prefer to linger outdoors, sip a cocktail at Les Collections courtyard bar or hop in the garden pool. Or opt for a spa treatment at Les Bain, with a heated lap pool, whirlpool spa, steam bath, and more.
