Start your adventure in Rio de Janeiro, known as the "Cidade Maravilhosa" (the Marvelous City). Explore the Floresta da Tijuca, the largest urban forest in the world, take a cable car to the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain and relax on Copacabana beach. Then head to the Amazon, where you will canoe through the watery forest of the Igapós, spot exotic wildlife in the jungle, and swim with pink dolphins.

When is the best time to visit?
Travel to Brazil in April through June or August through October. In July, major tourist draws are often crowded since local schools are on vacation, and the summer months from December through February are often too warm for comfort.
Where to go in Brazil?
Learn how to truly celebrate something in the legendarily vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro or relax in the much slower-paced Santa Teresa. From the country twang of Sertanejo, the reggae of Maranhão, the carimbó music of the Amazon, Brazil is a country to be experienced through the rhythms of its people.
How many days do I need?
While travelers might be tempted to visit Brazil in less than a week, the variety of experiences and destinations within this large country should be experienced over at least twice that amount of time.
To visitors, Rio de Janeiro is an exotic city where color and music flourish. Although the Cariocas (residents of Rio) agree, they know there's much more to their "Wonderful City." Explore irresistible beaches, surf and wooded mountains, the world-famous landmarks of the Pão de Açúcar and Cristo Redentor, and more on this quick immersion into the magic of Rio.
Straddling the triple border between Brazil, Venezuela, and Guyana, Mount Roraima is a perfect destination for adventurous travelers. Spend your days exploring the towering cliffs and unique landscapes of the mountain with the ultimate goal of climbing the summit — known to many as "The Lost World."
Experience a combination of city life and destinations in nature on this week-long Brazilian adventure. Begin in Rio de Janeiro, and embark on a full-day city tour to Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, and the best beaches in the area. Then, take a day trip to Ilha Grande to soak up the sun and explore a few of the many islands and beaches. Next, head to the Amazon to do some touring of Manaus before arriving in Careiro to enjoy activities in the Amazon rainforest, including canoeing, piranha fishing, and a nocturnal nature tour.
Discover Rio de Janeiro: a vibrant and diverse city where emerald blue water, inky green forest, and rocky mountains meet. Explore the lush Costa Verde and the picturesque colonial town of Paraty and visit the island of Ilha Grande to relax on dreamy beaches and enjoy a private boat tour. Get up close to the magnificent Iguazu Falls in all their thundering glory.
This journey is ideal for adventure seekers, nature lovers, and culture enthusiasts. Start in Rio de Janeiro, where you'll visit city highlights such as Sugarloaf and Corcovado peaks and learn what the "Carioca lifestyle" is. Impressive architecture and delicious food await you in a joyful atmosphere, followed by the magic of Iguaçu Falls—the most extensive waterfall system in the world. Then it is off to Manaus, the gateway to the Amazon, where you'll visit the jungle and observe wildlife.

A Brazilian Adventure, from Rio to the Amazon – 9 Days
Dec 11 - Dec 18, 2022
All of the transfers and accommodations were fine but we were disappointed in the level of English spoken by the owner/staff at the Tariri Lodge. There weren’t many guests but the majority of the other guests were Portuguese speakers. The guides didn’t always translate everything into English and we frequently had to rely on one of the other guests to translate for us.

We just completed our 8-day trip, covering Rio, Iguazu from Brazil and Argentina sides, and a day in Paraguay. It was a memorable experience. We had been planning this trip for about two months, and Meghan helped fine-tune our itinerary multiple times. Meghan and the Kimkim team were very flexible in accommodating our custom requests. On the day we were supposed to go to Christ the Redeemer in Rio, the weather turned out rainy with poor visibility, so we had to cancel. Meghan worked with the... read more
